Seclusion and isolation affected my abilty to concentrate on one type of imagery per work. I resolved this in the couple of months in quarantine through collecting and putting together illustrations and doodles from my notebooks, mostly composed of nature, portraits, objects suggesting contemplation. I also added illustrations from 2019.

The different parts were done while I'm having coffee or while I’m resting from doing bigger pieces. Sewing them together and showing these images at once are ways of showing the passing of time, along with the feeling of uncertainty and immobility. Everything continues to shift, and we can merely observe and wait.

I worked on parts of the pieces in a couple of different spaces. Two are included in the photos. The photo along the staircase was from an apartment I stayed in for two years that I had to leave due to the pandemic. And the other is a corner of a bedroom of a close friend's family in Antipolo where we stayed for a little bit in. I have been moving constantly for the whole year. I am now working here in my family home in Novaliches. I am okay with working anywhere, as long as I have a table and chair. (L. Gonzales)
