Diktador is a thought-provoking exploration inspired by the song of the same name by Dicta License. Within this collection, I tried to delve deeper into the social injustices that Filipino farmers face in their everyday lives, shedding light on their struggles, resilience, and the oppressive systems that perpetuate their hardships.

Through this art, I seek to create a visual narrative that not only captures the essence of the Dicta License song's lyrics but also serves as a poignant reflection on the lived experiences of Filipino farmers. The title itself, “Diktador,” evokes images of authoritarianism and the oppressive regimes that have plagued societies throughout history. It serves as a metaphorical representation of the power imbalances and injustices faced by the marginalized farming communities in the Philippines.

In each artwork, I combine different symbolism to convey the multifaceted nature of the farmers' plight. Portraying the resilience and indomitable spirit of these individuals who, despite enduring countless challenges, continue to toil the land and provide sustenance for their communities. The chosen palette of colors, texture, and composition hope to further add layers of meaning, evoking emotions ranging from anger and frustration to hope and solidarity.

Through Diktador I invite the viewers to confront the social inequalities deeply ingrained within the fabric of society. Hoping my artworks will serve as a call to action, urging us to critically examine the structures that perpetuate the exploitation and marginalization of Filipino farmers. By shining a spotlight on their struggles, we seek to amplify their voices and advocate for a more equitable and just society.

This project serves as a powerful testament to the transformative potential of art. It not only invites us to engage with the stories and realities of Filipino farmers but also challenges us to reevaluate our roles as members of society. Diktador encourages empathy, dialogue, and collective action, inspiring us to stand in solidarity with those who have been silenced and marginalized. Through art, we can begin to forge a path toward social justice and cultivate a society that values the dignity and rights of all its members.
