Re/Kunst/ruc

by Jomike Tejido

Reconstruction thru art—the ideology behind Re/Kunst/ruc, opens up a vibrant window of hope for better days.

As we all find ourselves in a new environment, even the best people in their respective industries grapple to find balance in unfamiliar ground. In this collection, the organic elements of Cubism, Mid-century modern art, and the Bauhaus aesthetic remind us of how humanity can, and will naturally realign and adapt to these global changes. The visual balance of forms, texture and colors give the painter a sense of order, as the elements seem slide into each other like block puzzle. Re/Kunst/ruc comes in sets with the intention of its users to have a hands-on experience of joining and repositioning the panels to construct their own sense balance.

About the Artist

Jomike Tejido was an architect before pursuing a full-time art career. Born and raised in a home-office with architect parents in Manila, Jomike grew up with an office of art materials at his disposal. His paintings reflect his architectural background and are a playful mix of technical drawings to conceptual design. To date, Jomike has held 11 solo exhibitions, with Invencionismo (January 2020) being the most recent. When Jomike isn't painting, he writes and illustrates children's books, with over a hundred titles published in Manila and New York.
