Abubot: Artworks from Found Objects
Filipino for “trinket,” ABUBOT is a special catalog of the If Trees Could Talk International Art Biennale, spotlighting artworks from found objects. Consistent with the spirit of If Trees Could Talk, the exhibition celebrates creativity, sustainability, and imagination. ABUBOT is a call for less waste and an inquiry into our increasingly hyper-consumerist world; an invitation to reuse and revive what we already have.
Seventeen artists have created works from items that would’ve otherwise been discarded, transforming everyday objects into pieces of art that question, challenge, or reimagine a society obsessed with consumption and what it means for humankind, the environment, and the future we share together.

The Hymn of Leaves
From Chad Montero's artwork 'Sipol' comes “The Hymn of Leaves,” a heartwarming and rousing tale of solidarity, the power of song, and keeping true to oneself.
Written by Katrina Macapagal, “The Hymn of Leaves” is the winner of the 35th Romeo Forbes Children's Story Writing Competition held in November 2022, selected from 239 entries written by Filipinos all over the world.
Montero's works in this exhibition grace the pages of CANVAS’s newest book, launching very soon.
The Hymn of Leaves is on view at Parola, until 31 July 2026.
Tipon-tipon sa Tumba-tumba
To celebrate the opening of the 2nd If Trees Could Talk International Art Biennale, we invite you to join us on March 14 and 15 for 𝑻𝒊𝒑𝒐𝒏-𝑻𝒊𝒑𝒐𝒏 𝒔𝒂 𝑻𝒖𝒎𝒃𝒂-𝑻𝒖𝒎𝒃𝒂, a two-day community gathering and art fair at the Tumba-Tumba Children’s Museum of Philippine Art in Ibaan, Batangas.
Visitors can expect guided tours of the Biennale, a curatorial walkthrough and artist talk, art workshops, short films and storytelling, community mural painting, food concessionaires, and a pop-up art market!

Featuring over 40 artists, 𝑰𝒇 𝑻𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒔 𝑪𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝑻𝒂𝒍𝒌 is our second Art 4 Development show of the year, and a prelude to the upcoming @iftreescouldtalk.art International Art Biennale taking place in February 2026. 𝑩𝒖𝒌𝒂𝒍 𝑺𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈, meanwhile, is our annual fundraising show for the Tumba-Tumba Children's Museum of Philippine Art, with over 20 artists participating.
IF TREES COULD TALK ART BIENNALE 2024
CANVAS and the Tumba-Tumba Children’s Museum of Philippine Art proudly introduced the first "If Trees Could Talk" International Art Biennale, an initiative aimed at using art to spark reflection and dialogue on environmental issues, particularly climate change last February 2024.
